Farmer's Market on Ali'i Drive

All of the fruits are grown locally. They were all so fresh. We have gone to this market almost every day that we have been here. They have these special bananas called "apple bananas". They are flatter and shorter, but they are soooo sweet. So Yummy!
Kaitlyn "helped" me pick out some little oranges for her. She dropped a peach and it went under the box behind us. Whoops.
They have oranges, mandarins, mangos, bananas, avocados, papayas, and strawberry papayas.
These are kind of like leechee nuts. They had them all hanging on the sticks still.

Harold H. Higashihara Park

For those of you that come to Park Day with the ward...I wish so bad that we had this park in La Crescenta. It was so fun and all of the equipment worked! Amazing.
Kaitlyn was so excited to find a park in hawaii. She loved it.
This was the cutest park. It had a big tree for shade and lots of different stuff to play on.
She got to swing...
And climb on this big boat. Super fun!
Anyone that goes to Kona, go to this park. It was a good one.

The plane ride to HAWAII!

For those of you that spoke with me prior to our trip, you knew that I was super nervous about Kaitlyn and the five and half hour flight to Hawaii. The good news is that she only slept for about 4 hours the night before we left. I guess that she was excited too! So, she was sooooo tired that she slept for 3 hours and some of the plane ride. This picture made me happy. On our short inter island flight Kaitlyn made a friend. His name was Eli. He was super cute and he liked to borrow Kaitlyn's books. The funny thing is that we saw him again at this really cool park that we found about 10 minutes from our hotel. That will be in my next post. Aloha from Kona.

Station Fire Updates

So, sorry, no new pics, but I'm sure you've all seen them on the news. It's so smokey that it's hard to see anything but smoke. So, we are fine. My parents were evacuated yesterday, but have been able to go back today. Everything is fine for now. Thank goodness to all of those firefighters and police who have helped to keep us safe.

Guacamole...mmmmmm

So Kaitlyn loves guacamole. She calls it monkey-monkey. She said last night at dinner that she wanted some. So, today we went to Chipotle to get some monkey monkey. These pics are what happens when you give an almost 3 year old a little cup of guacamole.
It was in between her eyes.
She licked it clean. We were laughing so hard.

More Fire Pics

These pics are from my parents balcony. Pretty cool!

Kaitlyn's Third Birthday Pics...a little bit early

Seriously, I have the cutest kid ever!

Kailtyn and Mommy Pictures!

Since I'm usually the one taking the pictures, I thought it would be good to get some pics of Kaitlyn and I together. And I'm tan right now, so it looks prettier. Yeah.
They turned out pretty cute.

The Station Fire...Day Two

It's getting worse, this is the hill above La Canada. This is from our front door.

Happy Birthday Elbert!

Today is Elbert's Birthday! Happy Birthday Honey. We love you.
We are so glad to have you in our lives.
From way back then until forever I will always love you and I am grateful for you and for our marriage. Thank you for all that you have done and continue to do for us.
I hope you have a happy day (sorry you have to work!).
Love Kaitlyn and Jen

...To Grandmother's House We Go!

This is GG. My Grandma and Kaitlyn's Great Grandma. She is 88 years old and lives in St. George, Utah. We went to visit her last weekend.
We went to the park and Kaitlyn loved this slide.
And she loved her eggs for breakfast.
This is GG with Emma.
It thunder-stormed while we were there. So nice and cool, since it had been 100+ the rest of the trip. The sky was beautiful while we were there.

Kaitlyn and Poppy

Kaitlyn loves her Grandpa. She loves to help him water the plants. She has decided this summer that she doesn't want to wear clothes anymore. So, most of the pics we have of her are with a diaper and shoes. Funny Girl!

New Emma pics

Here are new ones from today. Emma weighed in at 8 lbs this morning. Yeah!

The Booger

So, I just had to tell everyone that Kaitlyn came all the way downstairs just now to give me a booger(sp?). Isn't that awesome. I thought so! At least she didn't eat it, right.

Welcome Emma Louise!

Emma and Grandma.

We wanted to be the first to welcome Michelle and Rob's daughter Emma to the world. She was born last night(7/11) at 9:08. She weighed in at 6lbs. 9 oz. and 19 inches long. We love that she was born on 7-11. She will be able to get a free slurpee on her birthday every year. What a treat! Congrats Gibbs', she's so cute!
