Farmer's Market on Ali'i Drive

All of the fruits are grown locally. They were all so fresh. We have gone to this market almost every day that we have been here. They have these special bananas called "apple bananas". They are flatter and shorter, but they are soooo sweet. So Yummy!
Kaitlyn "helped" me pick out some little oranges for her. She dropped a peach and it went under the box behind us. Whoops.
They have oranges, mandarins, mangos, bananas, avocados, papayas, and strawberry papayas.
These are kind of like leechee nuts. They had them all hanging on the sticks still.

Harold H. Higashihara Park

For those of you that come to Park Day with the ward...I wish so bad that we had this park in La Crescenta. It was so fun and all of the equipment worked! Amazing.
Kaitlyn was so excited to find a park in hawaii. She loved it.
This was the cutest park. It had a big tree for shade and lots of different stuff to play on.
She got to swing...
And climb on this big boat. Super fun!
Anyone that goes to Kona, go to this park. It was a good one.

The plane ride to HAWAII!

For those of you that spoke with me prior to our trip, you knew that I was super nervous about Kaitlyn and the five and half hour flight to Hawaii. The good news is that she only slept for about 4 hours the night before we left. I guess that she was excited too! So, she was sooooo tired that she slept for 3 hours and some of the plane ride. This picture made me happy. On our short inter island flight Kaitlyn made a friend. His name was Eli. He was super cute and he liked to borrow Kaitlyn's books. The funny thing is that we saw him again at this really cool park that we found about 10 minutes from our hotel. That will be in my next post. Aloha from Kona.

Station Fire Updates

So, sorry, no new pics, but I'm sure you've all seen them on the news. It's so smokey that it's hard to see anything but smoke. So, we are fine. My parents were evacuated yesterday, but have been able to go back today. Everything is fine for now. Thank goodness to all of those firefighters and police who have helped to keep us safe.

Guacamole...mmmmmm

So Kaitlyn loves guacamole. She calls it monkey-monkey. She said last night at dinner that she wanted some. So, today we went to Chipotle to get some monkey monkey. These pics are what happens when you give an almost 3 year old a little cup of guacamole.
It was in between her eyes.
She licked it clean. We were laughing so hard.
